Soccsksargen is an acronym that pertains to 4 provinces and one of its cities in central Mindanao here in the Philippines -- South Cotabato, Cotabato, Sultan Kudarat, Sarangani, and General Santos City. And every year, a group of remarkable people organizes a SEx Tour for bloggers to appreciate, explore, and share the beauty of soccsksargen region.
Soccsksargen Experience Tour 4.0 Teaser Poster
I was a virgin blogger tourist during last year's SEx Tour 3. I was again privileged to have been part of this year's SEx Tour 4 or the Soccsksargen Experience Tour 4 For Bloggers from September 1-5, 2012. And before I blog about my SEx Tour 4 experience, I'd like to thank the people that gave me one of my most memorable trips to date through my nails.
Soccsksargen Experience Tour 4 Nail Design of Gratitude by Simply Rins
The Soccsksargen Experience Tour 4.0 is spearheaded by the fab brothers -- Avel Manansala and Orman Manansala (site logo on my index finger) of Project O! Consultants (logo on my middle finger) -- with the cooperation of the soccsksargen bloggers.
It boggles me why (oh why) did I not wore this nail design during the tour!
I hand painted the designs using acrylic paints and a detailing nail art brush. The designs were a bit challenging for me because of the details and painting texts alway tests my brush control. But I really wanted to do this. It was the least I can do to show my gratitude.
With Avel Manansala
To Kuya Avel,
Thank you for ...
But most especially, thank you for the time and for taking care of me (us) even when the tour was officially over.
- giving me another chance to be part of SEx Tour 4
- the occasional hugs that made me feel welcome
- the kwentos (storytelling) and the laughs
- pulling me on your side when I am surrounded with couples
- taking my picture when no one else will
- trying to set me up with a guy because you feel I need a man to fulfill some of my needs (ahem)
P.S. I am a girl. ;)
Aside from being a participant of SEx Tour 4, I was also invited to be one of the judges for the Mr. and Ms. Gensan 2012. WHAT?!? It felt so surreal. But then event organizer, Orman Manansala sent me a formal invitation and that knocked me over.
The invitation asked the judges to be in formal wear and thanks to Donna Mae Congson and Envy Me Salon for transforming me to this:

Mr. and Ms. Gensan is considered the most prestigious pageant in Mindanao and it was an amazing experience to be part of the panel of judges. It actually gave me an excuse to glam up and at least for an evening, I exerted an unusual effort on myself.

To Kuya Orman,
Please forgive me for grabbing the photo above. I simply love that picture. Anyway, I'd like to thank you for trusting me that I can take on the responsibility of judging the Mr. and Ms. Gensan Beauty Pageant 2012. You are, to date, the ONLY person that made me reinvent myself like that. I even wore fake lashes (I didn't know they would feel that heavy!) and had my stylist almost empty a can of hairspray just so my curls would stay. With all the things that are happening in my life right now, I needed that opportunity to give myself time to enjoy the perks of being a girl. Thank you for providing the reason.
And of course, how I can forget to thank friends (old and new) who made the entire experience unforgettable? I hope this will not be the last time we'll be together.
