Are you familiar with the Angry Birds? You probably are if you use an iPhone or an Android phone. It's probably the most popular puzzle video game today. I got familiar with it only last month when I went out of town with friends who play this game on their phones during idle times. As much as I wanted to get hooked, I simply do not own a mobile phone wherein I can install this game. But when I found out there's a PC version of the game, I immediately installed it in my laptop. I haven't finished the game yet but I finished my version of Angry Birds nail design!
Angry Birds nail art by Simply Rins
I literally was angry while doing this nail art. Have you experienced a moment during a nail art session wherein things aren't going your way? I had mine while doing this design. I was so clumsy I keep ruining my polish or the nail brush isn't cooperating with me. When I finally finished my first attempt, I wasn't so satisfied with the results that I ended removing everything and decided I'd sleep instead and attempt to do it again the next day.
I used 2 coats of OPI Alpine White as the white base colors for the Angry Birds and the pig. I had quite a hard time with this polish. It was streaky during application. The brush strokes was almost impossible to hide. For the slingshot, I used 2 coats of Faceshop BL602. This is a light blue color that I thought was perfect to create a sky background.
That's Orly Blue Collar on the blue bird that looks very much like the Twitter bird. OPI The "It" Color for the yellow bird that looks like Ernie from Sesame Street (my partner thinks so too!) and Faceshop GR502 for the green pig. Everything else was colored using acrylic paint.
For the white angry bird, I decided to use 2 coats of Essie Splash of Grenadine as base color. At first, I wanted to paint another slingshot on my right hand but figured it would look redundant. So I took my partner's suggestion and painted rocks instead. I just spiced it with a green french tip for grass and added a few clouds on the background.
As of this Angry nail art, I had my acrylic nails removed. It was nice working on my natural nails again after 2 weeks. But sadly, I broke my thumbnail while doing this design. It was disappointing but I just couldn't leave it without an angry bird on it!
Tadah! The 2 biggest angry birds on my thumbs!
I used China Glaze China Rouge for the red angry bird and 2 Sally Hansen Black Out for the black angry bird. These are my favorites, together with the green pigs!
Let's take a look at all of them together in a row ...
Regardless that this Angry Birds nail design made me angry, I surely had fun doing this and I hope you liked this too. And yes, if you haven't tried this game, I suggest you do. ;)
